These posts used to be up on the Edition38 Forums, but where Photobucket has caused issues for all these types of thread, I have decided to recreate it here, on the blog.
July 2014
So she began as a 1988 Mk2 Golf Gti Campaign edition in Helios blue with Big doors, small bumpers, power steering and rainbow interior.
This first part happened over about 6 years. So it was a gradual change really.
It had some rust so I replaced the doors, front wings, bootlid and the front valance.
Then it got its first paint job. Bit of a marmite colour change, but I built it for me to have some fun.
Some of the mods up to this point were:
- Full stainless exhaust and manifold
- K&N filter
- FK AK coilovers
- Split fold rainbow rear seat
- Mk3 Alternator swap
- Side repeater delete
- 20mm stub axle spacers
The golf was run like this for a year or two, but the back panel was still rusty and the paint was showing it’s age. It was time to get stuck into some metal work. Once this was cut out and replaced the paint was blown in to match, but it was coming time to have a new paint job.
Next part coming soon…
